‘We Come In Peace’ or Is the Idea of Active SETI – Stupid or… Stupid?

From the movie ‘Mars Attacks’. Hence the title of the post. “We come in peace!”, said the Martians and shot the President. 

Since nearly for 40 years we did not hear from the aliens (the freaky WOW signal aside), SETI decides to start broadcasting to space. Naturally, #StephenHawking is really upset. SETI thinks, it’s a good idea (Read the article). What do you think? Please share in comment section below.
