These days New York was mostly grey. However, if there was one color that stood out, it was yellow.

NYC Yellow Cab. To start from the obvious, the iconic Yellow Cab. Despite Uber’s expansion, cabs are doing OK in New York. That’s because the ‘real’ New-Yorkers ride the Yellow. I took a picture of this vintage cab – Studebaker, pre-1960s vehicle. Gorgeous, isn’t she?

Yellow Daffodils on the Strawberry Fields, Central Park. One of the top tourist destinations is the Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park, installed in memory of John Lennon. These yellow daffodils were a splash o f vivid color in the midst of grey concrete and steel.

Ess-a-Bagel diner. New York is famous for bagels. But if you want an ultimate bagel experience, you need to go to Ess-a-Bagel diner. Numerous vegan options (at least 6 vegan cream cheese kinds), next to any kind of bagel and filling you can think of. Folks, this is a huge hit. The line to the shop spans 30-50 persons outside the shop, and swirls insede as well. Yes, lines are annoying, but the experience is well worth the wait. Never in my life I felt like in the episode of ‘Seinfield’ comedy show about the ‘soup natzi’. Look it up, it’s hilarious.

Carnegie Restaurant. Another hit dining establishment is the Carnegie Diner/Restaurant. You may also end up in a waiting line here. The menu is a hit. Beef tongue, roast beef, herring, eggs and bacon, numerous salads, sourcraut, variety of pickles, salami and more. I just named some of the ingredients that stood out, the dishes are numerous. And they are enormous too. If you get a roast beef sandwich, you might consider sharing it.

There is the reason why this place is so popular. But if you don’t believe me, believe all the celebrities who dined here, and some, like Woody Allen, are regulars.

Yellow New York was fabulous. I had to be in the yellow trend as well.
